Size and format

• Every piece is unique: because it comes from an animal, the tone, the length of the wool and the outline vary slightly. That irregularity is exactly what proves it is natural.

What it is used for

• People in bed or in a wheelchair: the wool spreads out pressure, absorbs moisture and reduces friction — the three factors behind sores and bedsores.
• Older adults: a cushioned, thermal surface for an armchair or a bed.
• Car or motorcycle seat: cuts fatigue on long rides.
• Decor: over an armchair, at the foot of the bed or as a rug.

Why natural wool and not synthetic

Real wool absorbs up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling wet, then releases it into the air, keeping skin dry. It regulates temperature: warm in the cold, never stifling in the heat. Synthetic fiber does neither, because it does not breathe.

To tell them apart, flip the piece over: a natural sheepskin has leather on the other side. If you see woven fabric, it is synthetic.

Care

Yes: cold or lukewarm water, mild soap, dry flat in the shade, brush with a wide-tooth brush once it is dry.

No: hot water (it shrinks the hide), the dryer (it mats the wool), hanging it wet (it warps), direct sun, bleach or fabric softener.

Washed sparingly and dried properly it lasts for years. One trip through the dryer ruins it.
